The 2019 Tour reached its culmination last weekend, as our top 16 in both Masters and Intermediates made their way off to Shrigley Hall, near Macclesfield, to fight it out for the ultimate prize. The Masters consisted of twelve individual event winners and the best four “non-winners” – two losing finalists among them, and each a consistent scorer throughout the year. In the Intermediates, five had come the automatic route and eleven via points totals, with the Tour title being decided by just a handful of points.
Both divisions followed the same format – a swiss-ish Saturday, requiring two wins out of three to progress, and then last-8 and consolation-8 knockouts on the Sunday. All matches were 13 points, which would prove to be a real test of stamina for those not used to such a length!
