Since early autumn last year, the establishment of an online ratings list has seen more than 20,000 matches entered!
However, face-to-face play is now possible and well underway across the UK, and the live ratings list is once again receiving results from clubs new and old, as well as larger events such as regional or national open tournaments.

My first backgammon game was in a small café in Brighton where they served Oolong in coloured teapots. Having lived a brief time in Greece, I’d seen the game before, but at a distance, tentatively. Didn’t you have to be over sixty and smoke to gain admission?
The votes have now been counted and we are able to announce the results of the UKBGF Board elections for 2021-2022. There were twelve candidates who put their names forward, and nine places to fill. Our new Board will be made up of, in alphabetical order:

The new UKBGF Code of Conduct (“the Code”) has value as both a guideline on the expected behaviour of players, and a statement of the UKBGF’s values and commitments towards its members and the backgammon community.
