A bumper update around future tournaments!
Festival of Backgammon – Clubs and Doubles!
John Wright writes:
In just under two weeks time 20 teams from around the UK will battle it out to become the UKBGF Club Champions of 2022. This event will take place on the final day of the three day Festival of Backgammon which will take place April 1st-3rd. The second day will see the UK Doubles Championship where we still have a couple of spaces available. All three days will have standalone individual events so you will be guaranteed play whichever day and whatever time you arrive. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have regarding the tournament itself, the venue/hotel, travel or accommodation. Or see the event website.
Blackpool Imperial Cup 2022
The tournament is sold out, but if you join the waiting list you have a decent chance of securing a place. Please check our website in regards to your status to registration, payment and hotel. The vast majority of players have rolled over registration and payment from 2 years ago and some may be unaware they are still on the list so please check. Note hotel bookings did not carry over so a new booking is required.
Newcastle Open 2022 – Entry numbers extended!
Mike Snowdon writes:
Due to the demand for places, we are increasing the number of people who can enter this year’s Newcastle Open. We have already reached the initial maximum of 64 registered players but we are extending that to 72 players. There will also be a reserve list, as it is likely that a couple of people will not be able to make it. Please go to our website for details on the tournament, including how to register: https://northeastbackgammon.com/newcastle-open/
Cambridge Open 2022: registration open!
Julia Hayward writes:
After a lot of delays – including our venue of recent years closing for redevelopment, meaning we’re moving a short distance across town to Anglia Ruskin University – we’re now open for registrations! Everyone who has registered on the website, mailed me or spoken to me at recent tournaments will be accommodated and the website http://cambridgeopen.juliahayward.com has been updated with full details; I’ll be adding names to the list in the next day or so so you can check how much room there is left.
Stay tuned for more live events – and if you’re organising a tournament and would like a mention both here and in our monthly updates to members, just drop us a line.
